A year-long poll revealed that Americans most dislike President Donald Trump’s tweets targeting reality TV hosts, Republican politicians, celebrities and the news media, while they most like tweets celebrating veterans, first responders and John McCain. Over Trump’s first year, the polling outfit YouGov showed a representative sample of 1,000 U.S. adults each of the previous day’s tweets from the president’s personal account, asking them to rate them from “terrible” to “great.

Despite the promised tidings of comfort and joy, twinkling lights, and gifts exchanged, the holiday season can be a great source of pain and loneliness for those of us in the LGBTQIA+ community. The reality of what many queer people experience during the holidays seldom lives up to the sense of wonder and community we were taught to believe in as children. After the experience of coming out—naming our sexual orientation, who we really are, and where we find love—too many of us face rejection, isolation, and shame from the ones who had previously claimed they cherished us.

That’s the conclusion of a new study by Henry Ford Hospital researchers, which finds that homes with so-called hypoallergenic dogs don’t have lower household levels of allergens than those with other breeds. Hypoallergenic dogs, which include purebreds like poodles and Portuguese water dogs, along with increasingly popular mixed breeds like labradoodles (the offspring of a Labrador retriever and a poodle), are thought to shed less fur and to produce less of the stuff that triggers allergies, such as dander and saliva.
